Preparing for Your First Coaching Session
Before your First Session
Take a little time before your first session to set yourself up well. Complete your Getting Started Learning Track, set your goals, and review your coach's profile on the dashboard. These three things mean you and your coach can get straight into the work from the very first conversation.
Your Coach
Your coach is assigned to you as part of your programme setup. The matching process is designed to make sure you are working with someone well placed to support your specific journey.
Once you are matched, you will receive an email prompting you to schedule your first session through the platform. If you are part of a group coaching programme, you will also need to select dates for your group sessions.
Your coach is committed to keeping sessions every three-weeks, managing session time well, asking questions that make you think, and making sure each session builds on the last.
Confidentiality
All your coaching sessions are confidential. What you discuss with your coach stays between the two of you.
Where sessions take place
All sessions happen on the Mindbeat platform via video call. A few things to set yourself up:
- Log in a few minutes early to check your camera and microphone
- Make sure your internet connection is stable
Getting the most from your sessions
Show up on time.
Use the Notes section during your session to capture key takeaways and actions.
End each session knowing what you are going to do before the next one. That follow-through between sessions is where the real development happens.
Coaching works in proportion to the effort you put in. The more open and committed you are, the more you will get from it. That means being honest in your conversations, taking responsibility for your actions between sessions, and staying engaged throughout the programme.
Contacting your coach between sessions
You can reach your coach by email between sessions. Your coach will be in touch before your first session and you can agree on the best way to stay in contact from there. You can also find their contact details in the your Coach Profile section.
Rescheduling a session
If you need to reschedule, give at least 24 hours notice. Less than 24 hours notice means the session cost is still incurred and you may lose that session. For last-minute emergencies, contact us at support@mindbeat.app.
Group coaching sessions cannot be rescheduled as they require agreement from all participants.
If you are not happy with your coach
If after your first session you feel the match is not right, you can flag this on the feedback form or email us at support@mindbeat.app to request a different coach. Sharing a brief overview of why helps us find a better fit for you.
Feedback on your sessions
Periodically during your programme, you will be asked to share feedback on your coaching experience. This helps us support the ongoing development of our coaches and make sure the quality of your programme stays high.
